Hello, I'm Sam, a lawyer and mechanical engineer and have worked all over the world as the Global Head of Industrial Cybersecurity for Oil and Gas at Siemens Energy.
I have extensive global experience, including long-term assignments in South Africa and Qatar, as well as on-the-ground work with major players and government on every continent.
Despite being in-house for most of my career, I have remained active in impact litigation, where I have gotten millions returned to consumers in various cases.
I also have helped many crypto projects build legal and economic models which lead to success for the developers and users.
Lately, I've noticed that more of my CISO peers are getting asked to take on more personal risk in the board room, without the corresponding protections usually afforded to C-levels.
I have also seen a worrying trend of CISOs getting pushed to adopt OT Cybersecurity programs and tools which don't really meet their organizational needs.
